Requirements:

  • Set-up and operate manual lathes.
  • Inspect parts for obvious defects such as dents, rust or dirt or size variations prior to start of work
  • Using measuring instruments or gauges to assure parts are according to drawing/specification
  • Perform machine maintenance such as oiling machines and support equipment
  • Maintain work area in neat and orderly manner, observes safety rules and company policies. Wear protective clothing, safety glasses and hearing protection as required
  • Keep supervisor informed on problems experienced on work assignment and in work area
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned or required. May be cross trained on other production machines in similar labor grade
  • Ability comprehend instructions and read complicated drawings. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and other instruments used
  • Ability to pull, lift, push over a minimum of 75 pounds at one time

Requirements:

  • Responsible for setting up and operating welding equipment on a wide range of metals of complicated subassemblies and assemblies
  • Regulate gas for proper atmospheric control, current and voltage for proper penetration and fusing of metals
  • Check and straighten gasket surfaces and grind excess weld from finished work
  • Perform Mig/Tig Welding as required
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of welding tasks as needed
  • Inspect all work and insure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation
  • Must be able to safety use small hand and power tools, measuring tools, air tools and welding equipment
  • Must be able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
  • Three years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment
